On June 6, this year's ODA Inspiration Day took place. Evidi had two nominations in four categories, and we are delighted to announce that Evidi won the ODA Champion Award this year! We are more than proud.

ODA-Nettverk has recognized work that fosters gender equality and diversity in the tech industry since 2009. This year, ODA added three new categories, including ODA Champion. On ODA´smwebsite, they say that "the award will go to the organization that shows outstanding dedication to advancing diversity and inclusion, thus creating meaningful positive change." Our Cathrine Wilhelmsen was also a nominee in the ODA Techie category.

Challenging the status quo and driving innovation forward

Our CEO, Jørn Seglem, expresses his gratitude and joy for this honor:

What an honor to receive the Oda Champion award! This is truly inspiring for the work we put into developing a culture that fosters the place to grow – as individuals, teams, leaders and as a company. At Evdi, we embrace diversity and meet people with curiosity and respect. It is our diverse composition that gives us the strength to think outside the box, challenge the status quo and drive innovation forward," says CEO Jørn Seglem of Evidi, enthusiastically.

When Jørn accepted the award on stage during ODA Inspiration Day, he spoke humbly about how he had not thought that less than two years after the establishment of Evidi we would be on stage receiving this award. He also took the opportunity to thank our people and all other businesses that are part of the network. Together, we are committed to fostering an environment and culture where diversity is focus and every voice is heard and valued. This results in better decisions, which in turn create better businesses.

Decoding Decisions

ODA Network's events are a great chance to connect with others, interact with industry leaders and get inspired. The topic of ODA Inspiration Day 2024 was Decoding Decisions. The day was hosted by presenter, actress and Mensa Award winner Selda Ekiz. The participants learned about the technology-driven context of decision-making, discovered the science of informed and effective choices, acquired strategies for understanding decisions, and methods for coping with uncertainty. It was an extremely inspiring day, where we expanded our network and gained several new insights from talented speakers.

We highlight Manav Kumar, who showed how psychological safety helps minorities voice their views. Diversity needs good management to make decisions that include different perspectives.

Espen Nakstad shared inspiring lessons from the COVID era, where he had to make fast decisions based on data.

Ishita Barua is an AI expert in medicine. She talked about "From Data to Decisions: How to leverage AI for better health outcomes" and revealed how diversity gaps in data affect AI outcomes.

Cathrine Wilhelmsen, our Microsoft Data Platform MVP and solution architect, was an ODA Techie nominee by ODA. She also gave a talk in Lille Sal at ODA Inspiration Day this year about how we make choices every day. Low-risk decisions can be made on gut feeling, as opposed to high-risk decisions where we need data and evidence. Cathrine told us her job is to collect and organize data for others, so they can use it more easily. She also talked about why it matters to see what the data is for.

We are grateful to ODA-Nettverk for the award and the event, and for their vital work in leading the change, especially with ODA Bravery. ODA fosters DEI (diversity, equilty, inclusion) across the industry and improves society. We will keep working with ODA and the other network companies on this important issue, and support diversity to shape future solutions. We also thank our amazing Evidi employees and the other nominees.

This year's ODA Champion award is just the beginning of our journey. We believe that diversity-focused companies will make smarter decisions, and thus have a greater impact and become more sustainable over time - in all aspects.
